Winnie Christmas Wreath

Hello crafty peeps.  It's been a bit of an odd week in our household.  My daughter returned to school and my son has now left.   It was hard seeing her go but it needed to happen.  She was so excited to see all her friends again it was lovely to hear about everything when she got in from her day.  The school, to be fair, have done an excellent job in trying to get 1800 pupils back into education and it's going to be a learning curve in these strange times so I think we'll just take each day as it comes.

So, how have you all been?  I've noticed a fresh crispness to the air first thing in the morning now and the leaves are just starting to turn so looks like Autumn is just around the corner.  This pleases me greatly as it's my favourite season.  I spent a day switching up all my planters on my decking and front garden with flowers in beautiful autumnal colours and it's lovely to sit on the decking of an evening and watch my solar lights slowly come on one by one and light up the flowers, so pretty.

Anyway, I digress lol.  I'm actually popping in today to share my latest DT make for Polkadoodles Crafting Challenge.  Our theme for the team this week was 'Christmas' but for all you lovely peeps wanting to join in with us you can share anything you like it doesn't have to be Christmas related or even Polkadoodles goodies for that matter.  You can share anything with us and we'd love to have you join us and be in with a chance of winning some goodies.

Well, for my make I decided to ink up Winnie Christmas Wreath.  I stamped and coloured her with my copics to match the beautiful LDRS 'Country Christmas' papers.  I used a little Frantage around the edges of the die cut oval.  I love this stuff and I really should use it more.  I didn't really want to crowd my card with too much so opted for a simple bow and a couple of poinsettias.  I just love these poinsettia dies too.  They cut and layer up beautifully and I love how delicate they look.

My usual close up of Winnie.  She's so sweet isn't she and what struck me when I got her is it's a real decent size stamp to work with and you get a little separate robin stamp in the set too, although I haven't used it on my card.

Okay so that's all from me today.  I better dash as I've got school uniform and stuff to get ready for tomorrow.  I guess that's one thing I didn't miss ... getting the lunch boxes ready and ironing school uniform lol!

Take care folks and happy crafting.

It's a Magnolia Christmas kind of day

Happy Wednesday lovely crafty peeps.  I'm popping in today to share a little something festive.  I've made my first Christmas card of the year and again I seem to be very late to the Crimbo party as everyone's been making festive goodies for a little while, but hey I'm here now and that means that all my Christmas crafting goodies won't stray far from my desk now that I've made a start lol.

So as the title suggests I have something Tilda related to show you.  I have the pleasure of being a guest designer over on the fab Magnolia Forever blog for this month's challenge and the theme we were given to work with was black and white and this is what I came up with.

Image:  Magnolia Tilda 'it's cold outside'
Medium:  copics

So the card itself is made from acetate and I've just layered up some embossed white card which I've roughly torn to look like hills/snowdrifts and stuck it to the front as foreground snow and then did the same for the inside but placed them higher up the acetate to look like snow in the background.  All the die cuts are in black for contrast and Tilda is coloured in copics in shades of grey to compliment it all, cut out and 3d'd on the front.  To finish I die cut some snowflakes and added little black gems in the centre and then dotted some liquid pearls around to fill in some of the gaps to make it look like it was snowing.

I really enjoyed making this card.  It was actually quite simple to do but very effective I think.

Okay so that's all from me today.  I'm off to colour some new stamps that fell through my letterbox yesterday and hopefully I'll be back shortly to share them with you.

Take care and happy crafting folks.

Have an Ice Day!

Happy Friday crafty peeps.  I'm popping on my blog today to share my latest DT make for Crafteezee with you.

I've gone down the clean and simple route for this one and I've even used just white pearlescent cardstock for my base as well.  I do find clean and simple cards quite difficult really but I do love how they look but my fingers always itch to add more lol.

So I inked up Crafteezee All Dressed Up 'Have an Ice Day' stamp and coloured her with copics.  I do seem to lean towards bold colours so I've gone with a black and red colour scheme for her and love it against the white background.  I also inked up one of the sentiments which comes with her as well and did some freehand doodling around the card for a little detail.

Once she was coloured I fussy cut her out and raised her up on the card base for a little dimension.  Here's a closer look at her.

She looks so graceful wish I could skate like that …. me I'd just end up in a heap on the floor lol!!

Okay so that's all from me today folks.  I've popped the links to the Crafteezee goodies at the bottom on my post.

I'm off to do a little Christmas decorating with some lovely Christmas tunes and I may even pour myself a glass of mulled wine.

Take care and happy crafting.

Christmas Candle Jar

Hello lovely crafty peeps.  I'm popping in my Polkadoodles DT make today.  There is a new challenge live over on the challenge blog and my teamies have made some gorgeous Christmas makes to inspire you all.

So the DT this week were challenged to make a Christmas decoration and I've wanted to upcycle an old jar for ages.  Seriously I've got so many empty jars dotted around waiting to be re-used it's crazy so I thought heck I'll get on and use one.

So this is what I came up with …. I've made myself a decorated candle jar and it was so easy.  I re-sized and printed off a Christmas tree from the embellies section of Winnie White Christmas download collection so I could use it as a template.  I attached it to the front of my jar and then laid down a layer of gesso.  Once dry I went over three times with the green acrylic paint letting each layer dry in between.

So whilst the layers were drying I coloured up the Winnie Tweet Sounds and Winnie Forest Friends in lovely Christmas colours and fussy cut them out.  When my paint was dry I peeled off the tree template so I was left with a fab Christmas tree aperture.  I then added some glitter around the outline and some Twinklets around the bottom of the jar and 3d the Winnie images to either side of the tree aperture.  A little bit of red and white cord around the top of the jar and a few pine cones and I had one completed decoration.

Images:  Polkadoodles Winnie Tweet Sounds and Winnie Forest Friends
Medium:  images coloured with copics

A little look at Winnie Tweet Sounds.  Isn't she sweet.  You can see I've added lots of glitter accents and Twinklets to the jar too, well it is Christmas if you can't add lots of sparkles at Christmas I'm not sure when you can lol!

A little piccie of the other side of the jar featuring Winnie Forest Friends, again coloured with the same coloured copics so it all ties in.

Copics used

Skin:-  E000, E11, E13, R20
Hair:  E31, E35, E37, E29
Clothes:  R20, R22, R27, R29, R59
YG11, YG13, YG17, G28
E41, E43
C1, C3, C5

You know it was so much fun making this and I thought it was going to be so time consuming when actually it was really rather a quick project.  In fact it was the paint drying time that took the longest and even then it wasn't that long in between layers.

Please do pop across to the Polkadoodles challenge blog here.  There is lots of inspiration to be had and the theme is as always 'anything goes' so no excuse not to enter.  We'd love to have you join us and there's fab prizes up for grabs each week.

So that's all from me today peeps.  I have to dash as I should be putting up some decorations and not sat in front of the laptop.  Hubby's popped out quickly with my daughter to the store so better get lively and look like I've done something lol!!

I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Take care.

It's a Polkadoodles Christmas!

Hello my lovelies, I hope you are all well.  Unfortunately our little home has been hit by cold/flu germs this week so we're all feeling a little sorry for ourselves.  Normally I'd dose up and carry on but this one kinda knocked me for six a bit and I even cancelled some work which I just never do!  Anyhow, today I'm feeling a little more like myself so I'm trying to catch up with some things.

So first up on my catch up list I'm here to share my Polkadoodles DT make and it's a little bit of Polkadoodles Christmas love to share today.  I made a little set of Christmas notelets but me being me wanted something a bit different so out came the snow globe die.  Love how they turned out and by using the pre-printed images they were so quick and perfect as a little gift.

A little close up of the cute penguins.  They really are adorable.

Okay so that's all from me today folks.  I'm off to grab myself a bowl of my homemade chicken soup.

Take care,

Robin Gift branch

Happy Friday my lovelies I hope you are all well and not too soggy from all this wet weather we've been having. Well I've had another busy week with my daughter's birthday, half term and Halloween along with the usual work to pay the bills, I'm just coming up for air now lol!!

So with it being Friday I am popping in to share my usual Polkadoodles Craft challenge DT make.  This week the team were asked to make Christmas cards and matching envelopes, but for all you lovely folk the challenge is as always an 'anything goes' theme.  I was in my element making a Christmas card and I was so chuffed with the end result too until I realised I forgot the matching envelope part of the brief, so if you would kindly just imagine there's one matching envelope in my piccie I'd be forever grateful lol.

Medium:  copics

A little closer look at the image.  This has to be one of my favourite Christmas images (I say that about them all lol) but it is just so sweet.

I wanted the main focal point to be the image so didn't really go for lots of different layers but rather a clean and simple look with just a little Polkadoodles christmas paper to accent it.  A few little snowflakes, stars and a couple of gems and I was happy with the finished piece.

Okay so that is all from me today folks.  All the links to the Polkadoodles goodies I have used are up under the first piccie and don't forget it's an 'anything goes' theme over on the challenge blog here and we'd love to have you join us.

Right I'm off I have some major craft desk tidying to do before I can proceed with anything else ... I'm sure I had a desk under here somewhere you know!!!

Take care and have a great weekend.

'Little Skater'

Good morning folks.  I hope you had a lovely crafty weekend.  I didn't manage to get much crafty play time as it was my daughter's 14th and nephew's 1st birthday so it has been a tad busy, but hey keeps me out of mischief lol!!

Well I didn't get much time to play but I do have my Crafteezee make to share with you.  So this is All Dressed Up 'Little Skater' one of the new stamps released by Crafteezee and she is so sweet.

I decided to stamp her onto kraft and coloured her with a mix of copics and spectrum noirs. My colour scheme was taken from the beautiful Mintay 'The Sweetest Christmas' papers and I layered them up on to kraft as well.  I also fussy cut around a few images and layered them underneath and in the corner just for a little extra interest.

I love how the markers look softer on kraft card and I just used a couple of cool grey prisma's blended for the background.

Copics/Spectrum Noirs list

Skin:  E000, E11, E13
Hair:  E43, E44, E47, E49
Clothes:  R000, R32, R35, R37, R39/Spectrum Noirs GT1, GT2, GT3, JG4

Okay so that is all from me today peeps.  Links to the Crafteezee goodies I've used are at the bottom of my post.  I'm playing catch up with my craft now this week after the last couple of days have been super busy.  Don't you just hate it when life gets in the way!!!

Take care and happy crafting.

It's a Christmas matching set kind of day!

Hello my lovelies I'm popping in from a rather soggy Bournemouth to share with you a little matching Christmas set I've made for my Polkadoodles DT project this week.

Medium:  Prismacolor pencils

The DT were challenged to make a card with matching envelope, tag, wrapping paper and bow, but for all you folks entering the challenge is real simple as it's always 'anything goes' so no reason not to play and there are always fab prizes up for grabs!

So for my card I chose to colour up Holly Sparkles Christmas Unicorn with my Prismacolor pencils on kraft.  Isn't she just adorable.  Here's a closer look at her.

So I love the idea of everything matching don't you just adds that little something extra.  Imagine handing someone this little set at Christmas time how special would that be.

Anyway, that is all from me today folks.  I hope you enjoyed stopping by and maybe I've inspired you to have a go at making your own matching set.  If you have we'd love for you to share it with us either over on the Polkadoodles Challenge blog HERE or join us on our Facebook page HERE there is always lots of inspiration and we're a lovely friendly bunch over there.

Take care and happy crafting.

All Wrapped Up - New Polkadoodles Christmas release

Happy Monday lovely crafty friends from a rather wet and soggy south coast.  So to put us all in a lovely festive mood I am popping in with a little inspiration showcasing the new 'All Wrapped Up' image.

I've gone with a rather clean and simple design for this one so all the focus is on the image and pretty papers.

Medium:  copics
printed on to Ultimate Graphic paper

So let me show you a closer look at the image.  She has been coloured with copics to compliment the papers and I just added a few pearls for interest.

So that is all from me today folks.  I'm off to make myself a coffee and to catch up on some colouring that I never got around to at the weekend as life got in the way as per usual lol.

Take care and happy crafting.
