Sew Thankful

Morning my lovelies and a very happy Sunday to you from my neck of the woods.  The weather can't make it's mind up this weekend so at the moment I've given up trying to put the darn washing on the line as I feel like a bit of a yo yo going backwards and forwards every time we have a blinking shower!!

Anyway, I am popping in to share with you my very first project for Crafters Companion.  I was so nervous about doing it I think you always are with the first one.  So I made my card using some gorgeous freebies from the Crafters Inspiration Issue 10 magazine.  You get a papercrafting CD and it took me ages to decide on what papers to use there are so many to choose from but in the end I settled on some beautiful floral ones.  I inked up one of the free stamps to make a stitching effect around my card and love how this turned out so can see it being one of my go to stamps.  The flowers were coloured using Spectrum Noir pens and I just cut them out and glued them on to a raffia bow.

Sentiment, Stitching and Flower Stamps:  Crafters Inspiration Issue 10
Honeycomb Embossing Folder:  Crafters Inspiration Issue 10
Diamond Press Hexagon Dies:  Crafters Inspiration Issue 10

Spectrum Noir markers list

Blues:  TB2, TB4
Reds:  PP3, CR5, DR4
Yellows:  FS2, OR1

Right that's all from me for today folks.  I hope you have a great day and manage to squeeze in a little crafty time.

Take care.

A 'Little Bit of Gossip'

Good morning my crafty friends on this rather damp and dismal day down on the South coast.  It was beautiful yesterday so how can it be so blinking different today!

Anyway, I'm here to share with you my latest card which features the cutest little fairy digi from Sugar Nellie.  She is 'Little Bit of Gossip' and she's beautiful but she won't be around for ever as they are retiring her so if you like this little bit of cuteness you need to hop over to Funky Kits before she disappears.

I used my First Edition 'Spring Drop' papers as my colour inspiration.  My colouring ended up a bit more bold than was planned .. I don't seem to do pastel well it always ends up a lot darker but hey I like it anyway.  I dug out my old Tim Holtz butterfly border die just to add a little bit of interest to the card shape and look no ribbon - that's a first but hey I did use twine!

Medium:  copics
Papers:  First Edition 'Spring Drop'
Dies:  Whimsy 'Butterfly Frame', Tim Holtz butterfly border, Whimsy 'Corner' die set
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts

My usual close up piccie of the sweet image.  She's been coloured with copics and a little bit of sparkle.  I decided to have a go at the 'dotty' background and I'm quite pleased with the end result.

Copic List

Face/Body:  E50, E51, E21, E11
Hair:  E43, E47, E49
Clothes:  R81, R83, R85/BG11, BG13, BG15
Grass:  YG11, YG13, YG67

Challenges:

Creative Inspirations  -  Spring into Summer

The Sugar Bowl  -  Anything goes

Sweet Stampin  -  Lots of layers

The Ribbon Girl  -  June 'Card' challenge/anything goes

Stamping Sensations  -  Feature a Creature (ladybird & butterflies)

That's all from me today my lovelies.  Still have chores to do as I didn't get as much done as I wanted yesterday ... I blame the visitors we had not the fact that I kept stopping to craft ... that's my story anyway and I'm sticking to it!

Take care folks and happy crafting.

Some fandabidozi news

Hello my lovelies I am popping in to share some absolutely amazing news with you all.

I have been chosen to be a part of the new 'The Inspirers' Design Team for Crafters Companion.  I am so happy, honoured and very excited to have been given this opportunity and look forward to working alongside an amazingly talented group of people.  To be honest I'm still in a little bit in of shock.

Well I have lots of chores to get done today but I'm hoping to get a little crafty later as I've nearly finished a card so will have something to share with you.

Hubby is out tonight to watch the Euros so once the kiddiewinkles are in bed I will have uninterupted craft time, yay that's such a rarity and I'm so going to make the most of it!!

Catch up with you later folks.
Take care.
