X for Xtra Special over at The ABC Challenge

Hello everyone I hope you all well and are having a good start to your week.  I'm in full birthday party mode this week, we've just had our son's birthday celebration at the weekend and now I have my party head on arranging my daughter's party for a couple of weeks time.

Anyway, its the 15th of the month and that means its time for another new challenge over at The ABC Challenge and I have my DT card to share with you all.  This challenge we are on the letter X so that's X for Xtra Special so that's a card or creation for an xtra special occasion like wedding/new baby/birthday.  We have two fabby sponsors this time Bunny Zoes and The Paper Shelter so come over and join us we'd love to have you.  My teamies as usual have been busy making beautiful creations for you to feast your eyes upon so go and take a peek at all the gorgeous inspiration.

Okay let me show you my creation.  I decided to make a card for a new baby and got to use the adorable 'Enchanted Dream' from The Paper Shelter.  I used the printed version this time rather than the digi stamp and am really impressed with the quality it printed out lovely and if you're in a hurry its a great idea for a quick card.  Anyway, enough waffle here's my card:-

Whimsy Stamps - Circle of Friends - hop for Bev

Hi everyone and welcome to our Circle of Friends blog hop especially for our dear DT member and friend Bev Rochester

Unfortunately, Bev has had to take a little break from crafting over the past few months due to ill health.  We are missing her here at Whimsy and want to let her know that we are thinking about her and wishing her a speedy recovery.   Even though the Whimsy family is scattered all around the world, we have come together as a circle of friends to show Bev our love and support by each making her a card.   Although this hop is for Bev, we do hope you will hop along with us to support our wonderful teammate and friend.

If you arrived here from Deb Routledge, then you are in the right place! If you’ve happened upon this post by chance and would like to hop with us, hop on over to the Whimsy Stamps blog to begin the hop.

Okay for my creation, I decided to ink up 'Suzi with Bunny' by Wee Stamps and used Whimsy papers again this time 'In the Country'.  She's been coloured with copics and a few little gems added to the flowers.  I've been a bit handy with the old walnut stain distress ink again on all the papers and the flowers have even had a touch of distress crackle paint!  So let me show you my card:

Image:  'Suzi with Bunny' by Wee Stamps for Whimsy
Medium:  Copics
Papers:  'In the Country' by Michele Roos for Whimsy

Copics/Promarkers List

Face/Body:  E000, E00, E21, R20, R81
Hair:  Caramel PM, Cocoa PM, Walnut PM
Clothes:  R20, R22, R27/E41, E43/BG93, BG96, W7(for shadow)
Bunny:  E31, E33, E35

When I began crafting and blogging a couple of years ago I happened across Bev's blog and I have been a bit of a blog stalker ever since.  Everyday after the school run I would sit down with my cup of coffee and her blog was my first port of call - I had to have my fix of crafty inspiration!!!  The sentiment I decided to use on my card and is on the Doohickey heart tag tucked behind the image (which I stupidly didn't take a picture of) reads "you brighten my day", so what I wanted to say is this is for you Bev to 'brighten your day' as your gorgeous creations have mine so many times and to send hugs and best wishes your way for a speedy recovery as I'm missing my daily dose of inspiration!!!!

Okay enough from me its now time for you to hop over to ... Heidy Blom.

Finally, here is a full hop list in hopping order:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Take care,
Ann-Marie

Join us for World Cardmaking Day blog hop!!!

Happy World Card Making Day 2013!

World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to ... celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family, AND to kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season! Today, Whimsy Stamps is celebrating World Card Making Day 2013 with our very own BLOG HOP! The hop starts today at 9.00AM (EST) and ends on Monday 7th October 2013 at 12.00PM (EST). We've hidden a fantastic rubber stamp prize pack somewhere along the hop, so be sure to complete the hop and leave comments on all the DT's hop posts to enter! We will announce the lucky winner on the Whimsy blog on Monday, once the hop has ended.

But that's not all! Once you've finished the hop and entered the prize draw, hop on over to the Whimsy Stamps store where you will find some free digital stamps that have been posted in celebration of WCMD! Be quick to grab them, as they will only be available for a very short time! Finally, we will be posting another announcement on the Whimsy blog on Monday, which could save you a few pennies, so be sure to check it out!

Okay folks I hope you're having fun on the hop and if you've just come from Patricia's blog you're on the right path and it's my turn to share with you.  Now that summer is over and we're heading into Autumn my thoughts are turning to my most favourite time of year.  I embrace everything Crimbly and it's the perfect excuse to bring out the magpie in me and use lots of sparkly stuff.  For my card I used 'Santa's Glee' by Crissy Armstrong and he's such a jolly chap.  Now I'm a rather fussy person when it comes to my Santa's but he is adorable and can see him adorning many of my Christmas makes this year! I went for a rather untraditional Santa colour scheme and it was the gorgeous papers 'Winter Frost' by Michele Roos for Whimsy that inspired me to colour him up in this combo.  Let me show you my card:-

Sentiment:  Whimsy Stamps 'Holiday Ticket' sentiments + Ticket Die
Medium:  Copics
Dies:  Spellbinders 'Labels 22', Marianne Design Creatables Poinsettia, Joy Crafts Winter Wishes Snowflake border, Dienamics Crochet border, Memory Box Holly Vine

An arty view coming up.  All papers were distressed with my scissors and edged with Tim Holtz walnut stain.  I got the old Twinklets out and covered the snowflake border in them and also edged the poinsettia and my image too.  Love this stuff its adds great texture.

Last pic I promise! You can see the adorable Santa better here, he's such a happy chappy isn't he and you can see some of those Twinklets better too.

Copic List

Face:  E000, E00, E11, R20, R30
Clothes:  W3, W5, W7/BG11, BG13, BG15
Boots/Belt:  C1, C3, C5, C7
Santa's List/Pencil:  E41, E43

Right that's my little contribution to this wonderful event and I hope you like it.

If you've just popped in or got a little lost along the way here's a full hop list in hopping order to help you:

Your next stop is ... Debbie's blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and happy hopping!

September Rose

Hello folks from a rather soggy Bournemouth, yep the weather has been a tad unsettled here this week but I really don't mind after the beautiful summer we've had this year I find I can quite happily cope with a bit of rain (you can remind me of that in the depths of winter after a few wet school runs!!!)

Anyway, I've popped in today to share with you a card I've made using the gorgeous Elisabeth Bell image 'September Rose' from the latest September release.  She's adorable and beautiful to colour and you can find her HERE in the Whimsy Store.  I've teamed her up with Whimsy 'Purple Cottage Charms' papers which are just gorgeous so soft and pretty.  The little butterflies were from this collection too I just cut them out as were the tags.  I used a sentiment stamp from the Whimsy 'Celebration Pennants' set and stamped it on one of the tags.  Time for piccies:-

Medium:  copics

New Challenge over at The ABC Challenge

Good morning folks I hope you all had a great weekend and are having a good start to your week.  My start has been quiet but I'm not complaining means I can catch up on a few things which is good.

So pinch punch its the 1st of the month and that means its time for another new challenge over at The ABC Challenge and I have my DT card to share with you all.  This challenge we are on the letter W so that's W for Words so 'add a sentiment' how easy is that peeps.  We are being sponsored this time by Stamp Fairy and I got to play with 'Mimi Halloween'.   My teamies as usual have been busy making beautiful creations for you to feast your eyes upon so go and take a peek at all the gorgeous inspiration.

Okay time to show you what I made.  I decided to make a card for Halloween and used a Shape EZ template and I love how it turned out.  Anyway, piccie time:-

Image:  Stamp Fairy 'Mimi Halloween'
Medium:  Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Dies:  Spellbinders 'Fancy Tags'
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts

The bats were a freebie template from this lady HERE.  Her blog hasn't been very active of late but she does make some wonderful creations and still provides loads of inspiration.  Once I'd cut out the bats I used my glue pen around the edges and middle and added flock mixed with glitter so its sparkly and soft in one - love it!

Okay, a close up of the cute image.

Right I'm off now to get crafty on another project.  I hope you folks are all well and enjoy the rest of your week.

Take care,
Ann-Marie
