Sweet 'Maya'

Good evening my lovelies and a very happy Sunday to you all.  I'm here writing up my blog post on my new laptop which I had to get myself.  My old one was getting a tad long in the tooth and when it started making peculiar noises and little puffs of smoke would shoot out from the side (I kid you not lol!!) I decided it was time I sucked it up and got a new one.  I love my new baby I'd be lost without it but it's taking me a little while to find my way around Windows 10 and photos are taking longer to edit but I daresay I'll get there in the end.

We've had a quiet weekend here really so I've managed to do some chores and still squeezed some crafting time in.  I've got a poorly munchkin though as my daughter has come down with this cold/flu that's going around and I've spent a night making hot water bottles one minute and stripping covers off the next at one point I think the poor little mite was shivering so much her bed was rattling!

So my crafting has got off to a slow start this year but hey I've actually got a finished card to share with you today.  I pulled out one of my favourite Wee stamps images to play with the sweet little 'Maya' and I've coloured her up with my new Inktense pencils.  I must say I'm loving these pencils I've found them so easy to use and such beautiful colours.

Image:  'Maya' Wee Stamps
Medium:  Derwent Inktense pencils
Papers:  Couture Creations 'Hearts Ease'
Dies:  Crafters Companion Die'sire Edgeables 'Doily Lattice', Spellbinders 'Floral Ovals',
Cheery Lynn 'Fanciful Flourish, Dienamics 'Royal Leaves'
Flowers/Ribbon/Lace:  a mix from stash and Wild Orchid Crafts

I've added some 'diamond' Stickles to the flowers for a little accent and popped a few pearls here and there just to pick up some of the detail.  A little close up of the image.

Challenges I would like to enter my card into:-

Creative Inspirations  -  something new (Inktense                     pencils)

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge  -  fussy and fancy

Allsorts  -  old favourites (Wee Stamps image)

Noor Design  -  anything goes

Okay, so it's taken me ages to write up this post I've had so many interruptions and it is no longer Sunday evening but rather Monday morning.  So I hope you enjoy your Monday and have a great start to your week.

Take care folks.

Spring Bringer

Hello my lovelies and a very happy Thursday to you.  I hope you are all well.  We are still on Easter break here for the kiddies so all routine has left the building but normality will return on Monday when they go back.

I have a shaped card to share with you today and I decided to ink up the adorable 'Spring Bringer' by Wee Stamps and when I started this card it was a beautiful spring day but you wouldn't think so as I sit and type as it's turned a little on the cold side again.  Good old British weather you never quite know what you're going to get no matter what time of year it is really!

So anyways I'll stop rambling on and show you my make.  I used a set of Crafters Companion Create-a-Card 'Emma' dies for my shape and layers and used Kraft card as the bases.  I'd forgotten how much I love to work with Kraft so that's not going to get put away any time soon.

Okay that's my fly by for today.  I'm off to stick kettle on for a coffee and hopefully sneak some colouring in before hubby walks in and I have to look all busy and housewifely.  In my defence I have worked my way through my washing and ironing pile, the hoover has made contact with the floor briefly today and you can't quite write your name in the dust yet so that can wait till tomorrow.

Take care and happy crafting.

A Wee bit of Beau and Bashful

Hello folks.  A really quick share from me tonight as it's now 10 p.m. and I still have lots to get done and ready for the morning but I've decided that the ironing can wait another 10 mins whilst I post my make for you.

So it's been a while I know since I've popped anything on my little old blog but here is my latest frame I've managed to get finished recently.  I've used the adorable Wee Stamps image 'Beau and Bashful' and this one was actually a digi so I could size it as I wanted for the frame and I've personalised it for my niece as they're moving and will have a new room to decorate.

I would like to enter my frame into a couple of challenges

Creative Inspirations  -  anything goes

Simon Says Stamp  -  use more than one die/punch

Right that's all from me.  I said it was going to be short and sweet.  Enjoy the rest of your week and take care.

Christmas with 'Mistletoe Fairy'

Happy Sunday morning my lovelies and we have a beautiful one here which after the dismal weather we had yesterday is certainly a blessing.  I hope you are all well and finding the time to crack on with some Christmas crafting.  I'm plodding through mine not as quick as I would like but I'm getting there.

I'm popping in to share with you a card I've managed to get finished.  Now I was rummaging through all my Christmas papers and came across a Basic Grey 'Jovial' pad.  I've had this paper pad for a few years now and it has to be one of my all time favourites hence why it was tucked neatly away so as not to use it all up and I'm so wishing I had bought 3 or 4 right about now!  Anyway, I bought a few digis from the Wee Stamps store a little while back and one of them was the absolutely gorgeous 'Mistletoe Fairy' and she was a joy to colour.

Medium:  Copics
Papers:  Basic Grey 'Jovial'
Dies:  Spellbinders 'Floral Ovals' die set
Stampendous Frantage 'Aged Ivory'
'Diamond' Stickles
Ribbon/Lace from stash

I inked up the edges and dirtied the image up a little with some Tim Holtz 'Walnut Stain' and then sprinkled a little Frantage around the edges.  Love how it turned out so I think I need to get myself some more Frantage in different colours now!

Challenges

The Ribbon Girl  -  anything goes

Winter Wonderland  -  add ribbon/lace and/or Christmas flowers

Sweet Stampin at Christmas  -  anything goes

Stamping Sensations  -  Christmas greetings

Sweet Stampers challenge  -  Christmas

Okay time for me to dash - got to drop daughter off at Scouts for Remembrance service and then I've got to go to work for a couple of hours but I'm hoping to do a little crafting this afternoon if life doesn't get in the way!

Take care folks.

Wee Stamps 'Spring Bringer'

Hey there my lovelies a late pop in from me today but everyone's gone to bed I've got myself a nice milky drink and I can have some me time and what better to do with this time than to share with you my latest card.

So today I have an easel card to show you.  It's been ages since I've made one of these and I'd forgotten how easy they are but a right pain to photograph!  So I knew I wanted to play with a Wee stamp and chose to ink up the adorable 'Spring Bringer' and I've coloured her with my copics and added just a hint of sparkle ... hey you need a little sparkle on your fairy wings!  I wanted some really pretty spring like papers so once I'd rummaged through my rather large stack I settled on these and coloured my image up to compliment them.  I rather like the colour combo so this one may crop up again.

Image:  Wee Stamps 'Spring Bringer
Medium:  copics
Papers:  First Edition 'Summer Breeze'
Dies:  Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Floral Ovals'

I am in love with those daisies I think it is imperative that I have them in every available colour much to hubby's dismay!!

Sweet 'Maya'

Well hello peeps and a happy Sunday evening to you.

I'm popping in with a double dose of Maya love for you this evening with the cute little Wee Stamps 'Maya' image and I combined her with some gorgeous older Maja papers.  I've made one of my favourite styles of card for this one .. a criss cross card.

Image:  Wee Stamps 'Maya'
Medium:  copics
Papers:  Maja Design Vintage Autumn Basics
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon/lace from stash
Dies:  Spellbinders 'Floral Ovals'

My usual close up of the adorable image.  I'm not sure on the skin tone with this one on closer inspection I think she may have been tangoed.  I used my normal skin combo but I think because of the cooler colours I've used for rest of the image it's not right but hey lesson learned she's still a cutie pie all the same!

Copics List

Face/Body:  E000, E11, E13, R20
Hair:  E43, E47, E49
Clothes:  BV20, BV23, BV25, BV29/BG93, BG96
Flower:  W1, W2, W3

Challenges

Creative Inspirations  -  your favourite things (card style and cute fairy images)

Simon Says Stamp  -  make it girlie

The Ribbon Girl  -  April 'any image' challenge

So okay another card finished .. I'm on a roll here .. now do I break the cycle and be a good wife and go iron the uniforms and work gear for tomorrow or do I carry on crafting and do it quickly in the morning ... mmmm I know what's going to win!!!

Have a great start to your week and happy crafting folks.

Take care.

14 March 2016

Hello ... it's me!

Hello my lovelies it's been a really long while since I've posted anything on my little old blog in fact it's been a long time since I've actually crafted.  Last year was a really hard year for our family and we've struggled and crafting took a back seat I'm afraid.

Anyway, about a week ago I felt the urge to create so decided I would make something for my little girl and picked up my copics for a little play.  I ended up making her a box frame with a Wee image and loved how it turned out.

Items Used

Image:  Whimsy Stamps 'Sweet Blossom' by Wee Stamps
Medium:  copics
Papers:  Pink Petticoat 'Vintage Rose Collection', card for matting from Papermill Direct
Dies:  Whimsy Stamps 'Banner Pennant' die set
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts and some from stash

I used an 8 x 8 frame which I'd picked up a while ago.  I used the gorgeous Wee Stamps image 'Sweet Blossom' which is one of my favourites and coloured her up with my copics in colours to compliment the pretty Pink Petticoat papers from my stash.  I added a little ribbon, lace and couple of flowers and decided to add her name across the top as we struggle to find things with her name spelt that way.

A nice close up of the adorable image.  She's so cute and really lovely to colour.

Copics List

Face/Body:  E000, E00, E11, W3
Hair:  E31, E35, E37, E29, W5

I would like to enter my frame into the following challenges:-

Creative Inspirations  -  Pretty projects

Cute Card Thursday  -  Lace or ribbon

Allsorts Challenge  -  Spring is in the air

Stamping Sensations  -  Flower Power

Okay that's my little bit of craftiness I've shared with you all for now.  I know I haven't been around for a while so if anyone has taken the time to pop in on me I would just like to say a little thank you for stopping by it is very much appreciated.

Take care folks.
