On Tiptoe

Hello everyone and a happy Good Friday to you all.  Its rather cold here but no snow and no rain so that makes a change!

There is a break in the kiddies trying to kill each other so I'm quickly jumping on to load up my latest card.  As I so enjoyed colouring onto kraft with my prismas the other day I've had another go - I can see this becoming a regular thing as I love the effect.  I've used a Lili of the Valley image and she's so sweet, note to self must save pennies and buy lots more of these cuties.

Image:  Lili of the Valley 'on tiptoe'
Medium:  Prismas blended with Sansodor
Sentiment:  Whimsy 'vintage birthday tabs 1'
Papers:  Marianne Design 'birds and flowers'
Dies:  Magnolia Doohickeys
All matted on to card from The Papermill Direct
Ribbon, lace, pearls and charm from stash

A bit of a side view.  I decided to make the flower from an odd bit of lace I had.  I just did a running stitch and then gathered it together and put a button on top.

Lastly a close up of the gorgeous image.  As you can see I let loose with the glamour dust on her wings.

The kiddiewinkles are at present playing nicely together so I may just quickly stamp up another image.  We are having a quiet day at home today although hubby's had to go out to work for a couple of hours but at least its not all day and then we can all chill for the day.  I've even been that lazy that I ordered by grocery shopping on line and that will be here soon!!!

Anyway, before I go I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter and an enjoyable long weekend.

Take care.

Suzi with Bunny

Hi my friends, just a quick stop by today to upload my latest card.  I had a go at colouring onto kraft for this one.  I wasn't brave enough to have a go with copics so I got out my prisma pencils instead and I really enjoyed it and love how it turned out.  I love my copics but sometimes I think its good to have a change don't you.

Anyway, back to why I'm here.  This is my card and I've used a Wee stamp and I think she's called Suzi with Bunny but don't quote me on that I seem to have mislaid the packaging.

Image:  Wee stamps
Medium:  Prismacolor pencils blended with Sansador
Papers:  K & Company 'Classic K Bailey'
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts

A side view up next.  The inside has been decorated to compliment the front and I've used a kraft Craftworks Cards 6 x 6 card base.

Lastly a little close up of the adorable image.  Love the hair - sometimes I can struggle with hair but found this fairly easy and am quite happy with the outcome.

Okay time for me to go now.  I've got some sewing to do - my little girl managed to pull apart a seam on her school coat and its huge so now I have some repairs to make.  You would think this easy really but sewing and me just don't seem to go well together but I'm going to have a go and if that fails I shall be taking a trip to the  seamstress down the road its still cheaper than buying a new coat!!!

Take care folks and happy crafting.

My one and only Easter card!

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you.  Will someone please let mother nature know that it was meant to be the first day of spring on Thursday cos its so darn cold and dreary I think she's forgotten!

Anyway, as my title suggests I don't really do Easter cards so don't have that many images but had a rummage in my Magnolia's and came across this little beauty and then also found the background stamp which I'd forgotten I had, followed the fab sketch over at Mojo Monday and this is what I came up with.

Images: Magnolia Tilda and Stampavie 'Easter scenery'
Medium:  Copics/Promarkers
Papers:  First Edition 'Spring Drop'
Corners: Nellies Multi frames corners
Flowers:  Magnolia Doohickey 'Vintage Daisies', WOC

A side view up next.  All papers have been matted onto coloured cardstock from The Papermill Direct.  I'm obviously the last to know about this place but will now be bulk ordering all my coloured card from here -  the value is fantastic as is the service and the colours are gorgeous.  I've also just found out they have a challenge going to so have popped the link below as well.

Last piccie is a close up of the images, love them together.  You can just make out the fab vintage daisies.  I've been wanting this die for a long time and treated myself so you will probably be seeing a lot of it.

Okay I'm going to go now.  I think the kiddies are going to be having an early night tonight (for their sake and for mine!!!!).  They have been on at each other all day over stupid things so a good nights sleep is in order and we can start afresh tomorrow!

I hope you are all managing to stay warm and if you have the bad weather stay safe.

Take care,
Ann-Marie

Tilda Watering

Hi folks I hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend with some crafty time.  I'm going to keep this short and sweet today as I'm kinda nursing a hangover this morning and I feel a little ropey!!!.  A group of us girls got together last night for a good old chinwag, a couple of glasses of wine and Friends boxset on the old goggle box and a good night was had I can tell you.

Anyway, swiftly moving on.  Here's my card and I've used my new Magnolia stamp I treated myself too and went with a blue colour scheme this time.  I've used quite a bit of old stash for this one.  The flower and doily dies I've had for an age and not really used so they both got an outing.

Candytuft Candle

Hi folks from a very bitter Bournemouth gosh I woke up to snow this morning whats with the weather I thought Spring was just round the corner.  Anyway I'm back today very quickly just to show you the candle that I made to go with my mum's mother's day card.

Normally I  use church candles but I figured my mum wouldn't burn it so I decided to use one of those battery operated flickering candles and I must say they're pretty good.  I picked mine up in Hobbycraft ages ago when they were on sale and they're actually wax on the outside so you can still melt an image into.  I did find however they're not as easy as normal candles they don't melt as smooth but not bad at all.

The image was stamped onto tissue paper, coloured with copics and then melted into the candle with my heat gun.  I added a few punched glitter butterflies and liquid pearl dots and plenty of stickles on her wings and voila it was done.

Okay thats it from me for today - told you it was a fleeting visit!

Take care and happy crafting.

Candytuft Fairy for my mum

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been about for a few days.  Its not been a very good week at all this week so I am soooo pleased its the weekend.

My boy is moving up to senior school this September and we did the visits to all the schools we were interested in and completed our preference forms back in October last year and have had to wait until this week to find out.  Unfortunately, his first preference was refused but he was offered his second choice.  Now on the face of it it wouldn't seem that bad but he so wanted to get into his first choice that when we told him he just cried and then so did I seriously I've never felt so helpless.  Now when I think about it I get really really angry.  Most of you will know its all done on catchment areas and what makes it worse is the school he wants to go to is say 20 mins away on foot max but its not his catchment school yet he was refused and given his catchment school instead which happens to be 1.8 miles away and must be about 40 mins on foot now how crazy is that.   What makes me even more angry (if that is possible) is I know for a fact that three kids in our road got into his first choice school last year.  Also I know the school they have given him is not right for him we only put it on the form as it was his catchment school and we were told that whatever we do at least put his catchment school on the form.  So now we have a hard slog ahead of us with appeals.

Right now I have that off my chest (sorry for bending your ear!!!) I'll show you what I've come on here for.  I've finished my mum's  Mother's day card so thought I would load it up.  I've used a completely different image for this one.  My mum loves flower fairies so I've used an old Crafters Companion stamp.

The delicious papers are a download from NitWits called Always Forever and are beautiful.  I've used some elements from them too namely the large heart under the sentiment and the two little hearts in the bottom corner.  The one on the ribbon I've used glossy accents on and sprinkled on glitter whilst wet and it looks great.

All flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the die cut leaf swirl is my Cheery Lynn fanciful flourish die.

A quick close up of the image which is Crafters Companion Candytuft fairy and I've coloured her with copics and added loads of Stickles to her wings.  The sentiment is an old die cut I found.  I've promised myself I won't buy anymore sentiment stamps until I've used up most of my old die cut ones!!!

I also made a candle to compliment this card but the dufus I am this week forget to take a picture of them together so I will be back soon to show you the matching candle.

Well done if you've reached the end of this waffly post and thank you for listening to all my rants and thank you for the comments you leave they mean a lot.  Okay I hope you all have a really great weekend and for all the mums out there this Sunday put your feet up and take it easy!

Have a good one, take care.
