It's all about the paper!!

Good morning my lovelies and what a glorious autumn one it is!  It's beautiful out there just as autumn should be.

So as it's Friday that can only mean it's a brand new challenge over at Polkadoodles Challenge.  Now as always it's an 'anything goes' theme so it's real easy to enter, but the DT this week have a theme to follow of 'focus on papers'.  Well I've been meaning to have a go at a ribbon tree for quite a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity so I decided that rather than use material ribbon I'd print off and cut up strips of paper ribbon and make it out of that instead.  I love how it turned out and it was such an easy project too.

Poinsettia made using Spellbinders Poinsettia die set and covered in Twinklets

Thought I'd show you a close up of the gorgeous paper and I love the fact that as it's digital it satisfies my paper addition I don't have to panic when I use up my last sheet lol I can just print off another!!

So there we go a real easy Christmas project and not a copic or stamp in sight.  Why not pop across to the blog here and enter for a chance to win some goodies. You know it's not just the winner that gets a prize the top 3 do too how fab is that and whilst you are there you can feast your eyes on some gorgeous inspiration from my teamies they really do knock it out the park every week.

Okay so time for me to pootle off.  It's my daughter's birthday today and I promised we go do the girlie peely face mask thing but I'm having second thoughts now as she's picked the yucky black dead sea one and it looks disgusting … wish me luck!!

Have a great weekend folks whatever you are up to.

Take care.

12 October 2018

Brrrr ... it's cold outside!

Happy Friday folks and thank you so much for popping over to my little piece of blogland.

Well with it being Friday that means there is of course a new challenge gone live this morning over at Polkadoodles Challenge and I am here to share with you my dt make.  The challenge is as always an 'anything goes' theme so you can enter anything you like to be in with a chance of winning some fabby goodies.  The design team however were given the theme of 'wrap up warm'.

I have made a very simple card really for this theme.  I knew instantly that I wanted to work with Octavia Frosty Penguins she just seemed so perfect especially with those cute little penguins and she's very versatile as she's great for not only Christmas but winter as well.  I used a piece of acetate for the front of the card as I wanted to use my snow flurry die so that it looked like it was snowing.  I'm not brilliant at photographing white cards but I hope you can make out all the details.

Medium:  Copics and Promarkers

So the usual close up of the image.  I've coloured her with a mix of copics and promarkers and for the fur hat and trim I used a couple of the lighter grey copics and then used a blender pen and dotted it over the top.  I actually rather like the effect it gives.

Pen list

Skin:  copics E000, E11, E13, R20
Clothes:  R22, R27, R29, R59/Promarkers Ice Grey 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5
Hair/Penguins:  copics C1, C2, C3, C7 & black

I think this has got to be one of my favourite cards so far I have made for this Christmas.  Not sure I want to give it away lol!

Okay that's all from me today peeps.  Don't forget go check out the Polkadoodles Challenge here and you can take a peek at my teamies fabulous makes too lots of gorgeous inspiration to be had.

Have a great weekend and enjoy as much crafting as you can I know I will!

Take care,

When witches go riding .......

…. and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers
'Tis near Halloween ….

Hello crafty peeps, who love's Halloween? I know I do.  I'm not sure who has more fun trick or treating the kiddies or me lol and I love answering the door to all the little ones and to see them in their little costumes.  We always finish off the night with my favourite Halloween movie 'Hocus Pocus' every year without fail it's like a little tradition.  Of course it's only fair that I get to share a little of the candy whilst we're watching too.

So with Halloween fast approaching I've made myself a little hat shaped card and what better image to use with it than Polkadoodles cute little Winnie Wednesday Witch & Cat digi and I coloured her up to compliment the spookalicious Polkadoodles 'Halloween Trick or Treat' papers.  My card was real easy to do I just printed off a hat shape from the internet re-sized it in Word to what I needed and printed off a template.

Medium:  mix of Spectrum Noirs, Copics and Promarkers
Ribbon and flowers from stash

And, of course, a close up of Winnie.

List of pens used to colour my image

Face:  copics E000, E11, E13, R20
Cloak/Hat:  Spectrum Noirs LG1, LG3, LG5, JG1, JG2
Purples:  BV02, BV04, BV08
Oranges:  Promarkers Honeycomb, Spice, Burnt Orange

So I'm rather in love with this little card so I shall be displaying her on my mantle come the 31st.

Okay so time for me to go cook tea as it won't cook itself, then I'm going to settle down at my craft desk I think with a hot chocolate, a movie playing on my laptop and do some colouring.  A perfect evening in my books.

Take care folks and happy crafting.
